Adoptable Dogs

Below you'll find our current* group of dogs looking for homes. Remember, in addition to adopting these wonderful companions, you can always swing by and take one or more of them for a walk, a hike, an overnight or camping trip. It's a great way to enjoy the company of a dog and give him some exercise, affection and socialization. You can also hang out in the cat room and play with the kitties. We update this site weekly, usually on Sunday.

* This page is not always as up to date as we would like it to be so please call the shelter for additional information.

PUPPIES--often coming in weekly at this time of the year. Please call shelter for all new dogs and cats. This site is not up to date!  We have many new animals.

If you are interested in adopting, please call 970-544-0206, or visit us at 101 Animal Shelter Road, located just west of the airport stoplight near the turnoff for the RFTA bus barn.

Sam is a very cute, strong, energetic, black-and white-colored,
8.5 year-old Pit Bull mix who looks like an oversized Boston Terrier. She is incredibly alert and very smart,  as she learns new commands quickly. She gets along great with all people, including children, but she might be best as an only pet because she is easily excited and very dominant with most dogs, especially females. Sam has, however, developed a relationship with another shelter dog named Diesel (adopted months ago), a large, playful Alaskan Malamute who accepts her overwhelming playful aggression with a grain of salt.
